I agree...this will go down as one of the better events based on my personal experience. Not only did I AFK my way to the next Lucky tier, I also spent over 1 million on Creme Brulees (aka Victory Tokens).

EDIT: I just checked...I have 3,600 creme brulees (not points, but the actual brulees) in storage. That's just hilarious.

The running of the charges never got old...I had someone at my spot that "challenged" me to a contest as to who could return the most charges. Needless to say, my better ping got the better of him, but it was still a fun change of pace.

Hats off to A-Net for this one...

The mini-qwests were fun, the rewards were nice..and pressies!!
I did get goosed by a graspy when my bean cake gave out, during the running of the essences...

Well done ANet!!!

I too had a very good time this year. One thing I noticed...was it just me or did the Nine Rings seem a little bit "looser" this time? I've only been in GW since Oct of last year, but every other fest it seemed that I got a bunch of tickets, went away for a couple hours, came back and "You need at least 10 tickets..." This time even a couple overnights and I ended up with more tickets than I began with. Did a couple of the Kisu appearances, but since I'm a newbie title farmer, I had a lot of lucky to make up for! Putting the presents in the inventory was a definate plus, maybe they'll do that for Wintersday this year too...I know it's good for the AFKers and bad for the people who want to run around and take all the gifts once they un-customize, but it's the holidays and I don't plan to be running back and forth between turkey in oven and avatars of Dwayna on the comp.

Unless someone wants to get me a laptop

Yeah, seemed that way to me but I'm sure it is just luck. But about 20k of tickets saw me get around 50k of lucky so it was all good.

My first dragon festival so it was just good fun. Made some good money from V-tokens and had fun in the nest again.

It really shouldn't have been, but it was fun beating a couple who thought they were all that in the nest with my guild mate. They were being way too condescending to people they beat so it was fun to shut them up.

Was much nicer -- next to no loud-mouthed rude individuals, no jockeying for spots for present pick-up (*really* liked the drop-them-in-the-bag approach!).

Husband won 19k worth of festival tickets and a few plat in his presents. I tucked away 8k (all from drops and quest rewards) and managed Sweet Tooth on my ranger at long last.

All in all, enjoyable, low-stress and great 'couple's fun'.

And did you notice Kisu this year?
He's been working out..I just know it!
Maybe he is preparing to battle the rest of the world in GW2.....hmmmmm?

Fun times included some stupid guild trying to get in on the circle my alliance made to hang out in. (out of the way by the Dye Trader) They would z-rank us. We would hero rank them back. They then tried to muscle in on the spots we were camping. It was a fairly empty dist, they could have gone to other spawns. But nope, decided to be petty.

So we would stand directly where the charges spawned, and continuously get the charges each time. After 10 minutes they took the hint and sodded off.

They did this about another 3 times throughout the day. /facepalm.

I do like the challenge of someone else trying to be on the spot you've been standing on for 10 mins before the event started. And then watching them fail. Repeatedly.

Last night a bunch of us Rickrolled international's "Mission" Party search. We got the first verse + chorus of Never gonna give you up and had a fair few random people join in too. Got a lot of PMs from people who were laughing and jokingly all "damnit, I have that song in my head now!" which was pretty fun!

And of course the money was a nice little extra. 200k from tokens, 2 black dyes, one white dye from level 2 naga on the quest chain and then around 26 presents from each event. I loooove events.

People were mostly nice in my dist. Helpful and friendly. 'cept for the dumb guild I mentioned at the start. But really we just laughed at them, so it was all good ^_^

I loved this event because half the skilled population was AFK, so I got to farm endless streams of noobs in TA for glad points. Nearly r8! More PvE events plz, Anet.

it was fun festival, bought one stack of tickets and got in return 50k points into lucky title & 5k into unlucky . Completed festival quests in Hard Mode which was alot of fun and challenging a bit as i was playing with heroes. Didn't get much of drops but other than that had a blast.

I liked the quests. Some of the NPC lines were funny. The rewards were cool and we also got some interesting drops from the low level Mantids and Naga.

I was in one district for most of the event because the game kept picking it for me whenever I loaded. I figured better take the hint. It wasn‘t a district that “belonged” to a particular guild or alliance so, to me, it was even more impressive to see players from many guilds just hanging out and having a good time. It also paid off for my Necromancer who did quite well with gifts. Free platinum ~ Huzzah! I even planted him on 9-rings for awhile where he did better than expected.

For the most part chat was funny with people just joking and having a good time. There was teamwork when it came time to run the charges and even that provided good laughs. Some of the Grasps seemed to take a real liking to certain runners - like Warriors. The tarts.

It was a fun event. I met some new people and had a good time.

Twas my first Dragon Festival with Factions, so it was fuuun.

Just from selling tokens, I'm now approaching 100k for the first time EVER (I don't farm UW/FOW/DoA and I've never seen a glob of ecto)

One complaint I have was in Shing Jea Monastery, American Dist 137 during the last few hours of the festival.
It was basically one big insult-fest, especially in terms of racism, sexism, and general horrible taste.

Other than that, I enjoyed it immensely!

Let's see:

1. Farmed the hell out of the quests. Sold many stacks of Victory Tokens. Made close to 200,000k.

2. Spent some of my earnings to get R1 Lucky.

3. Spent rest on getting Destroyer weapons for my hall. Before festival I had 4 weapons for my hall. Now I am up to 9.

4. Participated in almost all the Emperor events..afk'ed a few while I was at work.

That appears to be SJM on every server. The euro district is often the same when a few choice regulars are there.

Since I was farming the quests, I needed a run on the last quest (Darkness at Kaitan) several times. I didn't see a single scam attempt or quibbling about the price after the run started.

About 40% of the runners declined payment. I guess there are plenty of good folks still around GW.

I remember the festival getting pretty vicous last year, with the unassigned present drops. I think the way it was handelled this year was far better, even if it meant AFK players could abuse it. I have to admit that even I simply left my computer on in Shing-Jea for a while, so I could get some more tokens.

In the end, I might quite a bit of money this weekend, so I'm pretty happy with it.

Look at it this way - instead of lots of Ninja-ing going on and very few people getting 200+ presents, EVERYONE Ninja'd and got 100+ presents (if they afk'd all events). How is that not fair?

Yup, great event. Very little lag, everyone in a calmer mood because they're not camping presents, and tons of Ale Hounds and Confectionery Conniseurs getting crowned. Good stuff!

I got banned. Apparantly "WTS unded Miniature Aatxe" constitutes a "racial slur", as it's the only thing I chatted in the hour I was able to play before I was kicked off.

GG Anet, thanks for ruining my festival time. I made my first character during the very first Dragon Festival (that Aatxe was my birthday present yesterday), and have bought all four chapters and 5 expansion slots. Now I get to miss out on my mask.

I guess you lied when you promised us you wouldn't ban without cause and you'd review every report.

The last few festivals I have attended have seemed to lack something; I'm not sure how to describe it.

But not this one!

I had a lot of fun at this Dragon Festival, it was just as good as the first one I participated in. I farmed a bunch of tokens, played with my guildies, did all the quest until I was sick of them, and even made a tidy profit goofing around in Nine Rings with a friend.

Thank you Arenanet, I had a great time.

The event was great, people were actually nicer than last year. Even with people AFK you had very little lag issues. During one the events my guildmates and I got to see an automatonic get killed by the grasping and roll down the linnok courtyard stairs. Great times
